BOLINGBROOK, Illinois (CBS) — One person is killed and another seriously injured after a shooting at a WeatherTech facility Saturday morning.

Police said around 6:25 a.m. that officers were sent to WeatherTech Way for reports of a person being shot.

Police have confirmed that one person has died, another is in critical condition and the third victim has been released from hospital.

The suspected perpetrator fled the building, but was located around 9.25 am and is in custody.

sen. Eric Mattson (D-IL) issued a statement regarding the shooting:

“My heart goes out to the victims and their families, and I pray that the three people who were shot will recover. While much remains to be learned about the perpetrator, it is clear that this person should not have had a gun because they were mentally unfit to be a responsible gun owner.

“We need real weapons reform, and we need it now. Without taking action, we will continue to expose people and first responders to devastation and tragedy.”
