Adelaide vs West Coast Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Saturday, June 4, 1:45 PM (AEST)
Ins: Patrick Parnell, Taylor Walker
Outs: Chayce Jones, Jordon Butts, Luke Brown
The Crows currently look pretty solid in terms of injuries. Only Rory Sloane, Paul Seedsman and Josh Rachele remain on the sidelines of the Crows best 22.
After a round 6 win over the Dogs that looked like it was going to give the Crows a real push in the final, they’ve lost five in a row and are now 15th on the ladder with a 3-8 file. They haven’t had much to get excited about in the last month, but their performance in Geelong over the weekend was at least a little admirable.
They were just two goals less than the Cats in the loss, and were competitive in midfield as Rory Laird, Ben Keays, Riley O’Brien and Jordan Dawson all had strong games. Taylor Walker returns this week in the squad that will tackle their biggest problem, the roads to goal.
Ins: Shannon Hurn
Outs: Jamaine Jones, Josh Rotham
It’s the same old story for the Eagles right now. Still absolutely ravaged by soft tissue injuries after pre and early season interrupted due to COVID issues. They currently have 14 players on the injury list.
It’s really amazing that West Coast somehow managed to get that win over the Magpies earlier in the season, considering how bad they were in the rest of their games. They are 1-10 on the season and have an absolutely dismal percentage of just 49.7. It’s one of the lowest numbers in VFL/AFL history, and it doesn’t look like the West Coast will improve anytime soon.
I find it unbelievable how bad they have been given the amount of Premiership players they still have weekly. This week, 10 more players from their 2018 flag will take to the field alongside proven AFL talent like Alex Witherden, Tim Kelly, Jake Waterman and Sam Petrevski-Seton. That’s at least 14 real AFL players, they shouldn’t be scoring doubles every week, enough apologies.
It’s hard to love the Eagles for being competitive even on weekends. Every week you think this could be the turning point, but week after week they are just blown out. The line opened at 37.5 in favor of the Crows, which doesn’t seem like enough, but I opt for the overs instead.
The Eagles have awarded more than 100 points in 9/11 games this season and a whopping 131.2 points in their last seven games. A little rain will fall around Adelaide on Saturday, but I don’t expect that to stop the Crows from scoring 90+. Jacking up the alternate overs a bit and placing a small bet seems to be the game here.

I like the semi-hedge on the overs with Riley O’Brien’s possessions here. If there is more rain than expected over the weekend and the total points will be affected, I think O’Brien should have a field day with the injury numbers rising. The big man had 28 hits in the loss against the Cats last weekend and there is a good chance he has 20+ again.
Selling Riley O’Brien 20+ ($1.98 at Ladbrokes)
I really like the chances for Lachlan Murphy to hit the scoreboard this weekend. The small forward has only kicked one goal this season, but there should be a lot more ball in Crows’ front line against the Eagles this week. Mentioned in the forward pocket and $4.25 odds of kicking 2+, I take that every day.
Lachlan Murphy 2+ Goals ($4.25 at Ladbrokes)
