Port Adelaide vs Gold Coast Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Sunday, June 26, 4:10 p.m. (AEST)
Injuries: Zak Butters (out), Brynn Teakle (out), Trent Dumont, Orazio Fantasia, Scott Lycett, Jake Pasini, Josh Sinn
Zak Butters has suffered another knee injury that will put him out of action this week, but Boak, Motlop and McKenzie bring a lot of experience.
Port would be nice, if not for a sad 0-5 start to the season. As a result, they have to perform some miracles at the end of the year to make it to the top eight. The Power wasn’t as formidable a proposition as in previous years, but now they’re approaching full power with Charlie Dixon back in the lineup. He plans to form a dynamic duo with Todd Marshall, who has played to his potential in 2022, marking the ball well in the air and scoring goals for fun.
Injuries: Connor Budarick (out), Joel Jeffrey (out), Wil Powell (out), Josh Corbett, Ben King, Jack Lukosius, Lachie Weller, Bodhi Uwland
It’s been a brutal few weeks for Gold Coast in terms of injuries, losing first to Lachie Weller before Wil Powell crashed into a horrific ankle injury last week. Joel Jeffrey and Connor Budarick are also injured for this.
The Suns are playing with great hope and enthusiasm and have won four of their last five games. As a result, they are in the finals, but it will be an uphill battle to qualify given the strength of the competition this year. Gold Coast is also running out of talent and missing some of their best players and leaders. Much will depend on the sustained form of Levi Casboult and Mabior Chol forward, as well as the fitness of core midfielders Touk Miller, Noah Anderson and Matt Rowell, as well as ruckman Jarrod Witts.
In this game seemingly equal teams play against each other, but I see a clear winner emerging.
Port have won their last three games against Gold Coast convincingly, all by 38 points or more.
The home advantage will greatly benefit the Power, who thrive on a full house at Adelaide Oval.
That’s why I take Port on the line.
$2.00 (2 units)
Dixon has had a successful comeback so far, scoring five goals in three games. The great forward has a great history against the Suns and should get a lot of service here.
Charlie Dixon 2+ Goals ($1.62 at Ladbrokes)
The Suns tend to give away divestments to opposition midfielders and Amon is well placed to capitalize on that. He has accomplished this goal six times so far in 2022 and, like Dixon, has a stellar history against the Suns.
Karl Amon 25+ Divestments ($1.64 at Ladbrokes)
