Fremantle vs Sydney Betting Tips

Optus Stadium, Saturday, July 16, 7:30 PM AEST

Fremantle Dockers

Injuries: Jye Amiss, Joel Hamling, Nathan O’Driscoll, Alex Pearce, Sam Switkowski

Injuries are not a major concern for the Dockers right now, with only five players currently unavailable for roster. Alex Pearce and Sam Switkowski are the only protagonists forced to the sidelines and both are not far from a roster.

The Dockers flexed their muscles on the road against the Saints last weekend in a big 41-point win. It was their best performance since their round 11 win over the demons and the first time they’ve cracked 100 points since round 8 against North Melbourne. The Dockers are now tied for first on the win ladder with 12, but are currently in third place due to their lower percentage.

Sydney Swans

Injuries: Josh Kennedy, Peter Ladhams, Sam Naismith

Sydney currently has only three players on the injury list, the fewest in the league. Josh Kennedy is the only one they’d love to get back to the park while he continues to treat a bad hamstring. Peter Ladhams would probably also be in their best 22, but isn’t a big out as both Tom Hickey and Sam Reid are available.

The Swans put the clamps on the Bulldogs last weekend by holding them at 67 points, while hanging 120 of their own. Their attack was as good as it has been all season, producing five multiple goal kickers, with Isaac Heeney leading with four. It was a necessary move by the Swans after their horror show against the Bombers the previous weekend. The Swans are now 10-6 on the season and will start round 18 in seventh place on the ladder.

Match Prediction

The Dockers were impressive with their moves against the Saints this past weekend and seem to be getting better with every game they play. They have been heavily challenged in each of their last three home games, but have managed to win them all. They are now up against a Swans outfit that has lost three of their last four on the road and I expect that trend to continue.

Fremantle Dockers -9.5 (2.5 pieces)

Prop Bets

Luke Ryan was 20 strokes on target last weekend, until the ball failed to come out of his side in the second half. He has still had 20+ in five of his last seven outings and remains a good value to reach that figure on Saturday night.

Sell Luke Ryan 20+ – $1.87 at Ladbrokes

Lachie Schultz is a key part of the Dockers forward and continues to prove his worth every week. He’s scored at least two goals in three of his last four games and even had a sack of four back in round 11. He should be good for at least two more here.

Lachie Schultz 2+ Goals – $2.15 at Ladbrokes

The Dockers’ defense has been the best in the league this season, averaging just 67 points per game. I expect them to be at their best again in this match.

Sydney Swans under 74.5 points – $1.85 at Ladbrokes
