French midfielder Paul Pogba said he wanted to prove Manchester United wrong after describing their offer to keep him on a £300,000 weekly salary ($367,000) as nothing.
The British news agency (PA Media) reported that the 29-year-old French midfielder is expected to return to Juventus at the end of his contract with Manchester United at the end of this month.
In a documentary about Pogba produced by “Amazon Prime” to be shown on Friday, the French player discussed his future with his late agent Mino Raiola, who died last April after struggling with illness.
In scenes seen by (PA Media), Pogba said: “My aim is to make it clear to Manchester United that they were wrong when they offered me that contract, and to show the other clubs that Manchester United made a mistake. when they didn’t. offer me a contract.”
As seen in the documentary, Manchester United have already made two offers for Pogba to stay, while Raiola also said he had spoken with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Pogba appeared in the documentary asking Raiola if Manchester United would make a second offer in July 2021.
Raiola replied, “Yeah, they really want you to stay, to me the offer doesn’t reflect that, and I told them if you want him to stay, you shouldn’t make that offer.”
“I’m going to make sure they understand that if they really want you to stay and build a business with you, they need to do it differently and put money on the table,” he added.
“They’re cheating,” Pogba said. “How can you tell a player you really want him to stay and then give him nothing? I’ve never seen that before.”
