A strange clause in Dembélé’s new contract with Barcelona

Sports 360 – Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo revealed the value of the penalty clause in French star Ousmane Dembele’s contract after he extended his contract with Barcelona until 2024.

Dembele was a candidate to leave Barcelona free during Mercato’s current summer, but he eventually agreed to the club’s offer to extend the contract.

The newspaper pointed out in its report that the value of the termination of Dembele’s contract is only 100 million euros, and this is the same penalty clause in his previous contract, which raises many question marks.

Dembele could leave Barcelona in the future

The report added that Barcelona had had very complicated negotiations with Dembele for many months, and therefore avoided re-pressing the player to increase the value of the penalty clause. But perhaps this opens the door to his departure in the coming years, as it is an amount the big clubs can save.

On the other hand, Barcelona put the value of the termination of newcomer Rafinha’s contract at one billion euros, the same value it put in the contracts of all players who recently renewed their contracts, with the exception of Osman Dembele.
