Avril Lavigne Covers Adele’s ‘Hello’ And Releases New Stripped-down Recording Of ‘Love Sux’

It turns out that Avril Lavigne has been a huge fan of a popular Adele track for quite some time now.

The pop punk princess finally got the chance to perform her own rendition of Adele’s emotionally intense track “Hello” for the Spotify Singles series. Rather than putting her uniquely fierce rock spin on the song, Lavigne stayed pretty close to the original throughout her punchy cover, with more of an alternative rock style.

“I love Adele’s song ‘Hello’ and would love to do a cover of it,” she said in a statement. “The ‘Spotify Singles’ sessions were a nice opportunity to finally do this cover and reimagine my own song ‘Love Sux’ as an acoustic version.”
