Back to ridiculous spending?! Johnny Depp Reportedly Made $62k at Curry Restaurant While Celebrating the Court’s Win

So this is what you do when you just won $10.35 million?!

Johnny Depp spares no expense as he celebrates his victory at the defamation lawsuit. The rum diary Alum took a break from rocking the stage to treat himself and his team to a sumptuous Indian dinner in Birmingham, England, on Sunday night!

According to DailyMail.comthe 58-year-old actor, his friend Jeff Beck (in whose concerts he performs), and their 20-strong entourage took over the restaurant Varanasia to enjoy a banquet of food and drink. Mohammed HusseinOperations Director of Varanasi, told the outlet:

“Sunday afternoon, out of the blue, we got a phone call that Johnny Depp wanted to come over for dinner with a group of people. I was shocked and at first I thought it might have been a wind-up.”

Not only was it no joke, but it made the establishment several thousand in one night!

Mohammed added:

“But then his security team arrived, checked the restaurant and we let them have the whole place because we were afraid he might be bothered by other guests.”

Johnny reportedly arrived around 7pm and stayed until midnight. While there he had no problem taking pictures with the staff and their relatives. Hussein continued:

“He was a really nice, down to earth guy who spent a lot of time chatting with the staff, our friends and family and was happy to get a picture with them. You never thought he was such a big star. He had a lot of time for all of us.”

The restaurant prepared the best for the feast, including shish kebabs, chicken tikka and tandoori king prawns. For the main course they made butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, lamb karahi and gamba bhuna. Everything was accompanied by naan, rice and salad. For dessert the pirates of the caribbean alum opted for a less traditional dish of panna cotta and cheesecake. Sounds delicious! On how the restaurant prepared all this food, Mohammed explained:

“He obviously knows something about Indian food and enjoys it. We made sure it didn’t get too spicy so Johnny Depp could enjoy the variety of flavors.”

The group completed the delicious food with lots of cocktails and Rosé Champagne. Johnny loved it all so much he ordered one to take home too! We have to imagine that it all costs A LOT! Although the Operations Director agreed not to disclose the official amount, the point of sale confirmed that the final bill was approximately £50,000 (or $62,662.50). All paid for by Johnny! Wow! Mohammed said of the prize:

“We had to promise not to reveal the final bill, but let’s put it this way; money was no problem, and it was easy in five figures. We made more money off Depp’s visit than we did on our busiest night of the week, a Saturday when we have about 400 guests.”

No wonder they’re glad he came by!

Sounds like it was money well spent for the artist, continued the satisfied contributor:

“In addition to the food, champagne, wine and all kinds of drinks were drunk. Depp and his group had a great time. They loved the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant and the service we provided. It was a real honor to have him here.”

Interestingly enough, while Johnny was clearly in a party mood, at one point he also snuck away from the party and hung out in his office with Hussain for about 20 minutes:

“He said he wanted a little break from everyone and sat in my office, watching the people in his group on CCTV and asking me a lot of questions about it. I didn’t ask him about Amber [Heard] or the lawsuit. It was just a nice chat with a very humble man. I’m still pinching myself because I never dreamed that Johnny Depp would be in my office talking about how the CCTV in the restaurant works.”

LOL! They were really just talking about the security cameras??

All of this comes just days after Depp was awarded $10.35 million in damages from his ex-wife Amber Heard as a result of their six-week libel lawsuit in Fairfax, Virginia. The actor sued his former partner for $50 million after she… Washington Post op-ed about experiencing domestic violence and claiming it portrayed him as an abuser despite not mentioning his name, as it was published long after her very public accusations against him first made headlines.

It’s been clear since the verdict was read that Johnny was overjoyed with the outcome of the grueling legal issue, but to see him drop all this money on one dinner proves he’s feeling good! And maybe let go, knowing that all that new money is headed his way?! In the past, infamous spending habits have been one of the main criticisms of the actor, but it’s clear that he DGAF! Comments, Perezcious readers?
