British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to get a confidence vote from Conservative Party lawmakers ‘today’

LONDON – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will receive a confidence vote from lawmakers in the ruling Conservative Party later on Monday, the 1922 committee chair, Graham Brady, has told lawmakers.

“The 15% threshold of the parliamentary party wanting a vote of confidence in the leader of the Conservative Party has been crossed,” he wrote in a note to Conservative lawmakers.

“Under the rules, voting will take place today, Monday, June 6, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM – details to be confirmed. Votes will be counted immediately afterwards. An announcement will be made at a time to be specified.”
