Boris Johnson will go straight from the Commonwealth meeting in Kigali to a G7 summit in Germany and then meet NATO leaders in Spain.

He has left quite a bit of political turmoil in his home country after this week’s disastrous defeats in the Conservative elections and mounting calls for his departure. But Mr Johnson has none of it – he stressed that voters were “heartily sick” of hearing about the things he had allegedly done wrong.
