What good news!” director Nancy Meyers wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, captioning a screenshot of a headline announcing that Cameron Diaz would come out of his acting retirement for a Netflix movie starring Jamie Foxx. An action comedy with the appropriate title Back in action, the film marks Diaz’s first on-screen role in eight years.
Foxx revealed the news on Twitter, sharing audio of his phone conversation with an “anxious” Diaz. “I don’t know how to do this, you know?” she said to him.
