Chris Daughtry tells about the death of his daughter and mother within a week.

Chris Daughtry opened up about his healing process following the death of his stepdaughter and mother, who died within days of each other at the end of last year.

The former american idol star say that he has “moments of guilt” for which he beats himself up, he told Kelly Clarkson on her talk show this week.

His 25-year-old daughter Hannah died in November 2021, exactly a week after the singer’s mother lost her battle with cancer.

“I’ve dealt with both differently, handled both losses very differently — the common denominator in both is the guilt,” the 42-year-old said during the interview. †[Thinking]“I wish I had said this. I wish I had done this. I wish I had called more.’”

The singer continued: “Those moments of guilt are the hardest because there’s nothing you can do about it. There will always be memories of what you could have done or whatever, and I tend to miss myself a lot. †

At the time, Daughtry canceled his tour to rush home to his family. “We never got to say goodbye to our dear Hannah and it’s another huge hit for our family,” he shared on Instagram at the time.

In the weeks following Hannah’s death, her mother Deanna Daughtry – who has been married to the rocker since 2000 – was forced to hit back on claims that the death was murder.

“I have lost my child and now also have to deal with rumors and assumptions about her,” she wrote on social media. “The people who loved her are hurting and we regret that they are not talking to the press, they are not spreading rumors and they are definitely not making this about themselves. So everyone please, please stop!”

Chris became famous when he finished fourth in the fifth season of american idol† He released his first album in November 2006 and has since received four Grammy nominations.
