WhatsApp will soon let you delete those accidental messages or spelling mistakes within 2 days and 12 hours. The scoop comes from WABetaInfo. That’s much more than the current limit of 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds. So now that the allowed duration is longer, you should have enough time to go back on messages you no longer want to receive.
Currently, the new WhatsApp feature is only available in the beta version. But let’s take a look at what we know about it so far.
Delete WhatsApp for everyone Time limit: 2 days, 12 hours
WABetaInfo tells us that WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.15.8 has been given a longer time to delete messages for everyone within a time frame of 2 days and 12 hours.
The blog post notes, “The previous limit was 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds. We just tried to delete a message sent yesterday and it worked!”
We also learn that the instant messaging app also comes with the feature to delete any WhatsApp message in groups if you are a group admin. This will likely be rolled out as a future WhatsApp update.
