New Zealand Heritage team member Sam Durdin will make his Carlton debut against Richmond tomorrow night.
Confirmed by AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss in his weekly press conference, Durdin will become the seventh new Blue in 2022, becoming Carlton’s No.1231 in the process.
It marks a meteoric rise for Durdin, who worked on a construction site in South Australia several weeks ago before being drawn out of Glenelg by the Blues in the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
It won’t be Durdin’s first foray into AFL action, having played 22 games for North Melbourne following his debut in 2017, but it will be his first appearance in Navy Blue.
It will also be his first in the home of football, with a full house expected for the Richmond-Carlton clash on Thursday night.
He had his opening appearance as a Blue last weekend, appearing for the Carlton Reserves just 10 days after being called up by the Club.
