DUBAI, June 21/WAM/ Our national junior handball team continues its daily training at Salah El Din Hall in Dubai, in preparation for participation in the 10th Asian Championship, to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from August 16 to 27, and qualifies next year for the World Cup final in Croatia.
Abdullah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the National Teams Committee of the Emirates Handball Federation, confirmed that the Federation has decided to resume training for the players after the end of the school examination period, in order to preserve their educational future, as there are currently 20 players participating in the training, which is eliminated to 18 only under the rules of the Asian league.
He indicated that the national junior team will continue its training in Salah El-Din Hall until June 29, when the training will be transferred to the headquarters of a number of clubs to be determined, provided it is in a closed camp in one of the Hamriyah or Dibba Al-Hisn clubs, while the team will go to an external camp where the place has not been settled until now, but it is between Macedonia, Bosnia and the Arab Republic of Egypt as it finishes before traveling to the tournament on August 14.
Regarding his evaluation of our first national team’s participation in the Gulf Games in Kuwait and the curtain fell late last month and our national team took fourth place, Al Kaabi said: “Entry was positive despite finishing fourth. place, where the ambition was greater than that, but the players gave what they had, especially as time was very tight and we couldn’t hire a foreign coach during this period.
He added that one of the positive results achieved was the discovery of many new talents, as we involved some emerging players, and they presented distinguished levels, which is an important point to focus on in the coming period, especially as they proved themselves in representing the national team in that tournament and in more than a split for it.
As for the identity of the first-team coach, Al Kaabi says the matter will be discussed at the board meeting to be held today to determine his identity and coordinate in the next phase.
