LONDON, July 15, 2020 (WAM) — Manchester City Football Club announced today, Friday, the extension of Algerian player Riyad Mahrez’s contract until the end of June 2025.
The club explained on its website that Mahrez has been one of the key elements of the team since his move from Leicester City to the team in 2018.
Mahrez has been instrumental in helping Manchester City win the English Premier League title three times, as well as more than one title in the English League Cup and the FA Cup, in addition to the team reaching the Champions League final.
Mahrez, who played 189 games with the team, scored 63 goals and assisted 45 goals for his teammates, said: “I am very happy to sign the new contract. I have enjoyed every minute I spent with the team. It’s a great honor for me to be with this great club.”
