Final Fantasy 14 joins its brothers in major announcements with its first look at the next patch in a few weeks. Includes new raids, quests, dungeons and more.
Final Fantasy fans are eating well today as some FF14 patch 6.2 news has also come out. The first Producer Live Letter for the patch will take place on July 1 at 9:00 PM AEST, described as Part 1, including “various updates.”
The timing of the Live Letters is pretty predictable, and this probably means there will be another one at the end of the month or early August, and then the patch launching on or around August 2.
In terms of content, we know that the Island Sanctuary is on the way in this patch. There will also be the next stage of the Pandaemonium raids and the new chapter of the main scenario quests. Based on previous expansions, we would also expect the start of the new trial run, although no one is sure what it could be.
There are usually a few surprises per patch as well, although those can be saved for part 2 of PLL. There was a ‘bonus’ extreme trial in Shadowbringers for various pieces of cosmetic gear, as well as the beginning of the Bozja and Relic storyline. The only remaining content announced before the expansion and not confirmed for 6.2 is a new Deep Dungeon.
FF14 continues to celebrate record popularity since the release of Endwalker, with the recent release of Dragonsong’s Reprise Ultimate being well received as both a storytelling moment and a high-end challenge. Important members of the development team are of course working on Final Fantasy 16 right now.
