Former single Becca Kufrin defends her decision to propose to Thomas Jacobs!

Becca Kufrin put it all there! TBH, she just did that last month when she flipped the script and asked her husband to marry her – and now she’s defending the decision all over again!

The 32-year-old ex- bachelor party speaks out about her non-traditional proposal to now-fiancé Thomas JacobsWhere she was the one who got down on one knee and asked the proverbial question about marriage and happily ever after.

In a new chat with fellow former bachelor party Michelle Young on their Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, the Minnesota-born reality TV alum opened up about her decision to be the one to turn things toward wedding bells with Jacobs.

Rejecting the traditional view that the man would propose marriage, Kufrin explained to Young that she heard all sorts of accusations about being “desperate” because she was the one asking!

Kufrin revealed more about the negative response to her proposal, saying:

“People are like, ‘She’s desperate.’ “I would never allow a woman to propose to the man.” “I would never do this.” It’s like, cool, that’s you, but why does it make me desperate as a woman to want? [propose] to someone? If Thomas were to do the exact same thing in a week, no one would say he was desperate. It makes no sense to me. The logic is not there.”

Precisely!!!

And thankfully, it sounds like Jacobs didn’t feel any negativity about Becca’s unexpected proposal. She claimed he was “so grateful” for the moment and “didn’t feel offended” about the role reversal.

In fact, Jacobs himself also chimed in on the new podcast episode. Full of hope and love for his significant other, the 29-year-old broker explained how he responded to the life-changing question:

“I feel very privileged to have been able to experience that. I’m even luckier that it’s with [Becca]† And I’m just excited for this life.”

awww!

The duo also has a lot in store for the future. For one, the former ABC TV personalities plan to combine their current last name with a hyphen for when they have children. They haven’t decided on the name order yet, but they know the meaning behind the decision very well.

Becca explained:

“We’ll have our kids break a hyphen. They belong to both of us.”

Jacobs supported her the whole time, noting how his now fiancé’s late father deserved to have a legacy as part of the soon-to-be-growing famous family:

“Since Becca lost her father and it’s her and her sister, I just don’t want to see a scenario where there isn’t a Kufrin going around in the world.”

That really warms our hearts!

To think these two came all the way out of the meeting in season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise to where they are now is so inspiring! And all the talk of hyphenation makes us even more excited for the future as they hopefully start parenting together!

Anyway, what do you think of the proposal role reversal, Perezcious readers? Are you thrown by it at all?! Or do you agree with Becca on this one??
