Despite his own fondness for vodka, the tyrant, 69, said his critics should ditch the booze so they could “harmlessly develop both a body and a mind.”

He added: “I don’t know how they wanted to undress, above or below the waist.

“But I would find it a disgusting sight anyway.”

Putin, who plays in fake ice hockey games, continued: “To achieve harmony, you must stop abusing alcohol and other bad habits, engage in exercise and play sports”.

He had seen red when Mr Johnson joked about him during a G7 summit in a sweltering room in Bavaria on Monday.

The prime minister asked photographers if they wanted the leaders to take off their jackets for photos, then joked that they should “show that we are stronger than Putin.”

Canada’s Justin Trudeau added that they should imitate him by entering a “bare-chested horseback riding show”.

Johnson chuckled as Putin’s comments were read to him by The Sun at the NATO summit in Madrid.

But he warned: “Putin should think about the consequences of his barbaric actions, the way his invasion has actually brought the West together, NATO, the G7, the EU, and look at the way people have come together.

“If he wanted less NATO on his borders by entering Ukraine, which, by the way, was never even remotely likely that Ukraine would join NATO any time soon, then everyone knew, it was completely mythical.

“But instead he is breaking Sweden and Finland’s historic vows of neutrality because they are so appalled and repelled by his violence and aggression.

“I think that’s an absolutely devastating comment about what he’s done and his behavior.”

However, the British ambassador in Moscow was summoned to the Kremlin for formal dressing.

Meanwhile, Sir Richard Branson traveled to Ukraine yesterday to meet Volodymyr Zelensky and see some of Putin’s devastation firsthand.

The Virgin billionaire, invited by the president, said he wanted to know how companies can help Ukraine.

After visiting a residential area with a destroyed kindergarten, Sir Richard added: “It is clear that these kinds of attacks are not unintentional and indiscriminate.

“They are part of a deliberate strategy to instill fear and terror among the Ukrainian civilian population.”

But it was confirmed that Putin had lost his 57th colonel since the invasion began in February when paratrooper commander Lt Col Pavel Kislyakov, 40, was buried in Moscow.

No details have been given as to where he was killed in Ukraine.
