Governor General apologizes for ’embarrassing’ approval from builder

Governor General David Hurley released a statement apologizing for appearing in a video advertisement endorsing a Canberra builder who was renovating his home.

Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell says: “This happened in 2020, a year after David Hurley took over at Yarralumla”.

In his apology, Mr Hurley said he had not benefited from participating in the video, and has requested that it be removed by the builder.

“I think you’d describe this as embarrassing,” Mr. Clennell said.
