The Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi series “Raised by Wolves” has been canceled after two seasons on HBO Max.
The sci-fi drama revolves around two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet and an burgeoning colony of humans in danger of disintegrating due to religious differences.
In a statement from the streamer, they confirmed “we are not going ahead with a third season of Raised by Wolves” and thanked those involved for making the show.
Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Travis Fimmel, Niamh Algar and Kim Engelbrecht starred in the series which premiered with strong numbers and solid reviews. Subsequent reviews, however, suggest that the show was going through a classic “sophomore slump.” The second season finale aired on March 17.
The cancellation comes as a lot of changes are happening at Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent of HBO Max, where CEO David Zaslav shakes things up. More cancellations may follow soon.
