(CBS DETROIT) — The sky will once again be filled with bright colors for the 2022 Ford Fireworks.

The 64th annual show on June 27 returns to downtown Detroit for an in-person viewing themed “Hey Detroit, The Sky Shines for You!” For the past two years, the show has been held without an audience at the Lake St. Clair Metropark due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year’s show will feature more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the Detroit River.

“The Parade Company is excited to return to the Detroit River and prepare for an incredible Ford Fireworks that will be filled with many spectacular surprises,” said Tony Michaels, president and CEO of The Parade Company, in a press release. “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Ford Motor Company, which allows us to grow the show bigger and better every year for everyone to enjoy.”
