“The best thing I’ve done is the 8/16 diet,” the Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman with DailyMail.com when she launched her Open Hearts jewelry line on JTV last year.

“My partner David Green lost 30lbs with the diet so I thought I would try it and it works really well.”

The 8/16 diet requires her to eat within an eight-hour period and then fast for the next 16 hours.

The movie icon said her biggest meal is lunch, followed by snacks at 5 or 6 p.m.

‘We enjoy lean meets such as chicken and fish and we pick fresh vegetables from our garden. I love roasted cauliflower with cumin and broccolini with rosemary from our garden. And I also like sweet potatoes with roasted garlic.’

And one of her tricks is the use of truffle oil, she said: ‘It is wonderful to cook with, a little bit gives so much flavor and makes a meal gourmet.

“When Covid started I went online to buy truffle oil and I must have pressed the wrong button because about three bottles or bottles came in the mail. But now I have tons of it and the kids like it when I use it, they call it the Covid Special.”

As for her 8/16 diet, Jane says she’s smart at fighting off cravings.

“I have my big meal at lunch, but then at 5 or 6 pm I get a little hungry again, so I have a few snacks like pistachios, berries and guacamole. I’m a muncher when I watch TV, I need something,” added the mother-of-four.

And when her sweet tooth rises, she reaches for ‘a small piece of dark chocolate’.

And when asked out to dinner by friends, she tries to make the appointment as early as possible.

“Early eating works best because I don’t want to go to bed full,” Seymour said.

Vitamins are also a must to build her immune system. She takes vitamin C, multivitamin E, D-3, omega, coenzyme Q-10 and ginger shots.

And lately, she’s been taking niacin, a B vitamin that your body makes and uses to convert food into energy. It helps keep your nervous system, digestive system and skin healthy.

When it comes to exercising, she says she’s not an extreme athlete type, but rather takes the time and listens to her body.

“I’ll stretch and do ballet moves when I can,” the Komisky Method star said.

‘I started ballet at a young age and it has always stayed with me.

“So I did a lot of stretching and there is a rail in my house that I will use as a ballet bar and I do a few exercises every day,” the star added.

Jane also shared with DailyMail.com that she does gyrotonics, a unique exercise system that incorporates movement principles from yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and t’ai chi.

And finally, the viewer loves lifting weights to keep her arms lean and also cites where she lives as a big plus for exercise.

“I live on the beach so I have plenty of space to walk in the sand and enjoy the fresh air, it makes walks easy and I’m a safe distance from everyone so I’m lucky in that regard,” said Jane .

The British treasure also told DailyMail.com that she is very grateful for the pod she has set up during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Her kids have come and gone with their kids in tow, much to the star’s delight, from Hayes in the UK.

“I’m grateful to be with family during Covid,” the Wedding Crashers actress said.

“I enjoyed being with my grandchildren so much. It’s so much fun helping them with homework and painting with them. They become little artists!’ added Jane.

‘Just doing the little things is so much fun and we have the time for that now.’
