Jennifer Aniston Pays Tribute To Legendary Actor Dad At The Daytime Emmy Awards

Jennifer Aniston made a surprise appearance at the Daytime Emmy Awards this weekend.

The friends actor presented her father, John Aniston, with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on Days of our lives — which he has been playing with since 1985.

Although he was not present, and she sent her message through videoit was still a moving moment: the father-daughter duo used to be estranged from each other.

Jennifer gushed in her speech: “It is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it is also an opportunity to recognize the lifelong achievements of an amazing and respected actor who also happens to be my father.” . .”

“John Aniston has consistently worked for television for over half a century,” she continued.

The actress listed some of the iconic TV shows her father starred on, including guest appearances on shows like Airwolf, Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, Star Trek: Voyager, and Crazy men.

“And that while they can be seen in almost every soap opera imaginable at the same time,” she joked. “You name it, I’m sure he’s been working on it.”

Talking about the Days of our lives Taking on the role he took in 1985, Jennifer noted that his “dedication to that show has earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow actors, deep friendships, and millions of fans around the world.”

“His career is literally the definition of a lifetime of achievement,” she concluded her speech.

Their relationship has not always been this good. When Jennifer was only nine years old, John packed up her things and left her with her mother. She said rolling stone in 1999 that she hasn’t seen him for a whole year.

Although she was injured, they eventually made up for it. “As best he could, my father explained and apologized, and that’s enough. We made it up. There are still parts that are hard for me, but I’m an adult. I can’t blame my parents anymore .”
