Fiorentina, the Italian football club, announced on Friday the signing of Real Madrid’s Serbian international Luka Jovic, the champion of the Spanish league.

“Fiorentina is delighted to announce the contract with Luka Jovic of Real Madrid for a permanent contract,” Fiorentina said in a statement, without specifying the duration or value of the contract.

Italian media reported that Fiorentina has not paid any compensation to Real Madrid for the signing of Jovic, who has two years left on his contract, noting that the royal club will receive 50 percent of the Serbian striker’s future sales value.

The 24-year-old, who moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, failed to establish himself in the royal squad, scoring just three goals in two seasons before being loaned out to Eintracht last year.

In contrast to his career at the club, the Serbian striker has excelled with his country by scoring nine goals in 26 appearances.

Jovic, 23, played a notable star at Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2018-2019 season, scoring 17 goals, notably in the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid signed the Serbian talent until 2025, but he never managed to confirm the hopes placed on him by the royal team, who spent €60 million to get him in the summer of 2019.
