‘Lightyear’ is the definitive origin story of beloved ‘Toy Story’ character Buzz Lightyear after he is stranded on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth, along with his commander and their crew.

As Buzz tries to find his way back home through space and time, he is joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robotic companion cat, Sox.

Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda.

Watch the exciting trailer below:

The film features the voices of Chris Evans as veteran Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear, Uzo Aduba as his commander and best friend Alisha Hawthorne, peter son as Sox, Keke Palmer, Taika Waititiand Dale Soules as Junior Zap Patrol’s Izzy Hawthorne, Mo Morrison and Darby Steel, and James Brolin as the enigmatic Zurg.

Evans, who donned his iconic shield for the last time in “Avengers: Endgame,” was elated to voice the much-loved character originally brought to life by Tim Allen.

“I’m covered in goosebumps,” he tweeted. “And it will be every time I watch this trailer. Or listen to a Bowie song. Or any thought between now and July, because nothing has ever made me feel more joy and gratitude than knowing I’m a part of this and it’s actually always on my mind.”

‘Lightyear’ will hit theaters on June 17, 2022.
