Louisiana’s trigger law banning abortion has been temporarily blocked by a judge.

Orleans Civil Court Judge Robin Giarrusso issued a temporary restraining order against the state on Monday for upholding the abortion ban, requiring the procedure to be rerun in the state.

Judge Giarrusso granted plaintiffs Hope Medical Group For Women and Medical Students for Choice’s request.

The Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade on Friday after granting the constitutional right to abortion for nearly five decades.
