Tetyana Pyshna, who fled the conflict in Ukraine with her 12-year-old daughter Anastasia, says the ordeal has been the “hardest time” in their lives.
The couple left their home in the city of Kremenchuk, leaving behind their husband and father, as well as the rest of their family.
“We were all crying… all people were crying,” Ms Pyshna told Sky News presenter Erin Molan.
“It was very difficult for everyone.”
She said the hardest part is not knowing when they will be able to see their family again.
“And can we go back to our country? Can we come back to our house?”
