An angry co-worker has shared an enraged note left by their manager forbidding staff to be sick unless they can find cover.
The boss from hell has left a message for his employees that they need to find another member of the team to cover their shift when they are sick.
The scandalous note is said to have been posted at a Subway store in South Carolina.
The message reads: “To all team members: If you call in sick, you must find another team member to cover your shift, and if you can’t get it, you must work your shift.”
A second note below states, “From this point on, if the temps aren’t complete, it’s a write-up.
“If you’re not in full uniform (hat, name tag, apron, blue or black jeans and non-slip shoes) it’s a chore.
“The policy of the pilot company is 3 unauthorized absences is dismissal.
“You have to call 4 hours in advance or it’s a note.
“If you’re on the phone and ignoring customers, that’s a typo.
“If you don’t tidy yourself up, it’s writing.
“These are some, but not all, of the things you will be held accountable for from this point on.”
The two notes shared on social media infuriated users, saying that it is actually the manager’s responsibility to take cover when an employee is sick.
Someone said, “‘If you’re sick and can’t find anyone to cover for you, come in’”
“I’m sure the health department would appreciate a phone call from a sick employee being forced to make food.”
Another commented: “This is literally how we all got Covid and we learned nothing”
One added: “As a manager, yes. This is exactly the responsibility of a manager.
“I see this all the time and it’s BS. Being sick can put colleagues and customers at risk (especially now) Management is the ones who have access to phone numbers, schedules and availability.
“It’s insane to expect someone to get a service without that information.”
Metro has been contacted for comment.
Meanwhile, another Puma warehouse boss is divided after he posted a note asking employees not to wear items from other competitors such as Nike and Adidas.
A manager was criticized for posting a note that read “work isn’t meant to be fun” next to a minion character.
And another manager posted a note telling staff not to charge their phones at work because it’s “electricity theft”.
