Cadena Ser: Dembélé rejects Barcelona’s latest offer… and two days decide his fate

League Plus – Radio “Cadena Ser” confirmed that French star Othmane Dembele turned down Barcelona’s latest offer to extend his contract with the club just two days before his contract expired on June 30.

The Catalan club held a session with the players’ representatives, in which no agreement was reached between the two sides, so that the French player would be on the brink of leaving the Blaugrana.

And “Cadena Ser” indicated that Dembele’s agent believes Barcelona’s latest offer to the player is insufficient for the French star to extend his contract with the Catalan club.

And Spanish radio indicated that if Barcelona did not improve its offer to Dembele in the next two days, it would look for another club to move to.

Press releases had confirmed that Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is looking to renew Ousmane Dembele’s contract as he believes the club cannot take on a winger of his abilities at the moment.

Dembele joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 for €105 million, the eighth most expensive deal in football history. The French player appeared in 149 appearances with the Blaugrana, scoring 32 goals and providing 34 assists.
