Eric Holder, the suspect charged with the murder of Nipsey Hussle, was assaulted in prison and was unable to attend his murder trial on Tuesday.
According to reportsEric Holder was beaten up after he left a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday.
The extent of Holder’s injuries has not been disclosed. He was treated for his injuries, but his day in court was canceled on Tuesday.
“Based on some unforeseen circumstances beyond the fault of the parties here, we will not be in court today,” Judge H. Clay Jacke announced in court on Tuesday.
Holder is accused of deadly shooting rapper Nipsey Hussle on March 31, 2019 at the South Central Los Angeles mall that the rap mogul owned.
Bryannita Nicholson, 35, who drove Holder to the mall that day, testified last week she heard gunshots right after Holder got out of the car.
She said Holder quickly returned to the car. “I thought, ‘What happened?’” Nicholson testified. “He said, ‘You talk too much. I should hit you.’ And he was like, ‘Drive! Drive!’” she said.
The closing arguments are scheduled for Wednesday, but can continue until Thursday. Holder pleads innocent. He risks life imprisonment if convicted.
