The second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is here. As arguably the most anticipated movie of the year (or in many years for that matter), No way home has huge excitement around its upcoming release. For now, fans can only check out the released footage and trailers, and you can see what’s next for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the landmark film by checking out the new trailer below.

There’s a heavy emphasis on the villains in this new trailer, including plenty of new footage of Alfred Molina as Doc Ock. We also get a closer look at Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, along with confirmation from other villains such as Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman. The big question many fans wondered was whether the other Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, would show up, but they don’t, while Peter Parker took on all these villains without them. Could Sony save them for the theater?

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

This trailer was first revealed at a special fan launch event in Los Angeles. We knew about several major characters returning, such as Alfred Molina as Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, but this new trailer also brings some other surprises. We can bet that Marvel and Sony still have some of the biggest surprises for the release of the movie itself with Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters next month.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker and Benedict Cumberbatch also returns as Doctor Strange, and it appears that the relationship between the two is breaking down in the film. Ahead of the release of the second trailer, Holland talked about what’s coming next for the superheroes, suggesting that Doctor Strange won’t be stepping in as a new mentor for Peter after Tony Stark’s death.

“It’s a very different relationship [from Tony Stark and Peter Parker]’ Holland said via Games Radar. “I wouldn’t consider Doctor Strange a mentor in this movie — it’s more like a colleague. By this point in the movies, Spider-Man has established himself as a pretty powerful and serious Avenger. Doctor Strange sees that in him and treats him as an equal. And over the course of the film, their relationship breaks down. And instead of becoming colleagues, they don’t become enemies, but certainly not friends.”

Of course, the biggest draw for Spider-Man: No Way Home comes with bringing in established characters from different movie universes. That includes Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who are both returning as their Spider-Men, and prior to the launch of the second trailer, Garfield took another moment to deny that he was involved in the film. It was the last of several denials that he would be in the film even if no one believed him.

“Listen, I’m not in the movie,” Garfield continued bluntly… Today† “I love Spider-Man, always have. I was so happy to have played the part, and I’m so excited to see what they do with the third, just like you guys, to be honest. No, that is not a diplomatic answer. I really mean it. I like Tom Holland. I like Jon Watts. I like Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige and what they did with those movies and that character. It’s an important character to me. So I’m just really excited to see what happens in the third, just like you guys.”

Who will we see and who will we not see in the movie when it finally releases? We can bet the box office performance will be amazing with fans flocking to find out. Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
