Real Madrid, the champions of the Spanish League and the European Champions League, announced the departure of the first team captain, Marcelo, after the expiry of his contract with the Royal.
Marcelo’s contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30 and as the contract extension was not negotiated during last season, the Brazilian will leave after 15 years within the walls of the “Santiago Bernabeu”.

Marcelo came over from Fluminense to Real Madrid in the Brazilian league in 2007 and managed to lead the left front following the departure of his legend Roberto Carlos.
Real Madrid has issued an official statement confirming Marcelo’s departure and will hold a press conference in the Brazilian’s honor tomorrow, Monday, June 13, at 1:00 p.m. before he leaves for Real Madrid headquarters in the presence of Florentino Perez.
Following this honor, Marcelo will appear before the media in the Sports City press room to talk about his journey with Real Madrid and his achievements.
