The Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, ended weeks of controversy and on Friday signed the extension of his contract with Liverpool FC until 2025, to receive a salary that puts him at the forefront of the highest paid players in the club.

According to English press reports, Salah will receive £400,000 (about $480,000) a week thanks to his new contract, almost double the previous salary of the Egyptian star, who came to Liverpool from Rome, Italy in 2017.

Salah has become Liverpool’s highest paid player, reflecting the major role played by the English Premier League’s top goalscorer on many occasions within the club, who are looking to once again compete for titles, most notably the English Premier League and Champions League .

However, Salah failed to reach the top spot in the list of highest paid players in the English Premier League, a position controlled by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns £510,000 a week.

The Egyptian star shares second place with Belgium’s Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne and the two players receive the same salary, according to British newspaper “The Sun”.

Behind these stars is French midfielder N’Golo Kante, who will receive £290,000 ($350,000) from Chelsea.
