Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4 remasters were put on hold so Rockstar can focus on GTA 6

A Rockstar insider named Tez2 who has successfully leaked information about upcoming Rockstar information such as GTA Online content in the past has revealed information about their upcoming plans.

The insider has said that “according to a reliable source with obvious accuracy about Rockstar’s plans, remasters of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption 1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to go ahead with the projects in mind.” …. The poor reception of the Trilogy DE could be a reason for that decision.”

Kotaku has now bagged this claim, but also said that one of the main reasons these remasters were delayed at this point was to focus its efforts entirely on GTA 6, which Rockstar confirmed was in active development early this year. †

Given the massive nature of both titles, a remaster in the future isn’t out of the question, of course, but it makes sense that Rockstar would want to focus on its next big entry at this point, especially after Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive’s mild reception. Edition.
