Review: In Imagine This! bored children at an art exhibition enjoy the paintings | The Canberra Times

Gray tells us that the knitting girl’s name is Polly (McCubbin’s second sister) and that she’s bored. Two children visiting a gallery that hosts a McCubbin exhibit called Beau and Ginger see the girl in the painting and speak to her. Polly sees her chance to jump out of the painting and take a tour of the show with the other two kids. While inspecting other McCubbin paintings in the exhibit, the youthful trio in paintings discover fairies at the bottom of the garden, children dressing in fancy costumes for paintings, children flying kites, others looking after chickens, swimming naked in the golden sunlight or piano to play.
