Rising star nom, round 15
Lachlan Jones from Port Adelaide has been named the Round 15 NAB Rising Star nominee.
The proud Yanyuwa man had 16 disposals, eight goals and a goal in Port Adelaide’s two-point win against the Gold Coast SUNS.
In a finals-style game, Jones’ pressure and presence in the front line were crucial to keeping Port Adelaide’s best eight chances alive.
Senior coach Ken Hinkley praised Jones’ recent move from defense to the Power’s half-forward line.
“(Jones) is playing footy the right way. He’s tough and hard and has real pressure and real running,” Hinkley said.
“We don’t know exactly where Lachie plays his football in his career, but all we know now is that he is bringing some really important things to our front half.”
