One of the biggest problems in community football of almost every skill level is wanting to go super fast as much as possible and the age-old mantra of “your first option is always your best option” becomes ingrained in the player’s psyche. doesn’t help either.

I have a pretty strong hunch that if local teams focus on keeping the ball off the marks and free kicks just 1-2 seconds longer than usual, there will be more and better options to keep the footy as the slow Pace of play lulls the defense to sleep and with the use of the width of the length built up by your player movements, huge holes for ball movement are guaranteed to form.
The game has full footy rules, but you have to stay within the limits of the game, so all you have to do is use the space available.
