What do you do to make a healthy UNH?

Actively go to the gym and eat healthy. In addition, I walk to all classes and usually everywhere on campus. By walking all day, I reach my daily goal of 10k steps.

Do you have any tips for eating healthy?

I try to eat 3 hearty meals a day and I always have granola or a protein bar in my bag as a snack. I find that when I’m hungry it affects my ability to stay focused.

Have you made tangible improvements to your exercise or physical activity by making positive changes in your life?

Try to hit the gym more often and try the Local B Barre classes in the city center.

Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely exhausted and burned out by this pandemic?

The lifting of the mask mandate on campus was certainly an encouragement to end the semester on a strong note.

What are you doing to improve your emotional well-being?

Practice self-care at least once a day. Some self-care includes going for a ride, wearing a face mask, taking a nap, listening to my favorite songs etc.

What does health mean to you?

Health means feeling good about myself and maintaining a positive mindset.

Over the past year, have you felt more comfortable advocating for yourself when receiving health care?

Yes, especially in the past year. COVID has helped me to be more comfortable advocating for myself.
