What do you do to make a healthy UNH?
I go to the gym six days a week and try to eat fruits and vegetables with every meal.
Do you have any tips for eating healthy?
Eat a high-protein diet
Make low-calorie swaps, like cauliflower rice instead of regular rice
Eat the less healthy things in moderation to prevent binge eating
Have you made tangible improvements to your exercise or physical activity by making positive changes in your life?
I try to eliminate all negativity in my life and also put in the most effort for myself and my goals. I also like to find workouts that I enjoy to make going to the gym more fun.
Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely exhausted and burned out by this pandemic?
Take a deep breath and think about everything you want in life and take advantage of this time to make those changes, keep your mind on improving yourself instead of the negativity.
What are you doing to improve your emotional well-being?
I try to put less emphasis on the negatives in life and try to find positives no matter what situation I’m in.
What does health mean to you?
Being confident and being able to do the activities you like and enjoy.
Over the past year, have you felt more comfortable advocating for yourself when receiving health care?
Yes, I’ve definitely felt a lot more comfortable as I’ve gotten older because I have less to hide and am able to express what’s going on with myself.
