Father’s Day in the US came and went this weekend, but Maya Hawke’s hilarious tribute to her famous father, Ethan Hawkeis still highly regarded.
Fans Can’t Get Over the Shadow Maya – Currently Starring Weird stuff – threw at the 51-year-old actor when she shared a meme that grilled him.
For context, Hawke made headlines in 2015 when he took his son, Levon, now 20, to an NBA All-Stars Game in New York City. Also at the match was singer Rihanna, who sat on one side of Levon, with Hawke on the other.

However, the actor was soon caught sitting next to Rihanna as the couple chatted, after seemingly asking to switch seats with his son.
The meme shared by 23-year-old Maya was a throwback to this moment.
With photos taken from the game, it read: “Happy Father’s Day especially to Ethan Hawke who got his son to switch seats with him so he could get to Rihanna.” Ouch!

Sharing it on Instagram Stories, Maya simply wrote, “Happy Father’s Day dad.”
The internet licked up the hilarious comment and kept the shadows coming.
“Happy Father’s Day to ethan hawke just because he had maya hawke,” one user tweeted, while another wrote roughly: “DO MAYA HAWKE THIS IS SO FUNNY.”
However, it’s possible that Hawke found the funny side of his daughter’s tribute, as in 2019 he spoke about the viral outing on the pitch.
“Yeah, my son and I remember this AMAZING night,” he joked when asked about the moment on Twitter. “His version is a little different from mine.”

Hawke shares Maya and Levon with his actress ex-wife Uma Thurman† The couple married in 1998 after meeting on the set of Gattaca two years earlier, but split in 2003 and officially divorced in 2005.
That same year, Hawke began dating nanny Ryan Shawhughes, whom he and Thurman had hired to care for their two children.
Both Hawke and Shawhughes have repeatedly denied rumors that they had an affair while he was still married to Thurman.
In 2008, he married Shawhughes and they now share daughters Clementine, 14, and Indiana, 11.
