The Barcelona star reveals she intervened to persuade Mbappe to reject Real Madrid

Barcelona player Alexia Botias reacted to the news confirming an attempt to persuade her Kylian Mbappe to refuse to move to Real Madrid.

Mbappe’s future has been one of the most thorny issues of the current summer transfer window, with the impending end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and Real’s intervention to sign him for free.

While she was in the program “El Hormiguero” on Spanish television, the announcer, Pablo Motos, decided to ask her what had happened to Mbappé.

What did Potias say?

Motos recalls that at the Ballon d’Or 2021, Botías received the award for the best player in the world from Mbappe.

And he asked her during her presence on the program whether she had persuaded the French striker to refuse Real Madrid and stay in Paris.

In response to this question, Botias said: “He has decided to stay and if he is happy, I am also happy that he has stayed in Paris.”

It was the comment that sparked applause and laughter on the set of the Spanish program.

How did you talk about winning the Ballon d’Or?

Botías donated the Ballon d’Or to her father, who passed away 10 years ago, and made sure that this was her motivation.

Speaking of this award, the Barcelona midfielder said: “To this day I still can’t believe it. Everything is going so fast and you only think about tomorrow.”

She added: “When my father died, I decided to take one more step in everything and use the energy he gave me because it helps me in bad moments.”
