TikTok star Ophelia Nichols in other words Mama Tot reflects on her husband’s emotional reaction to her son’s death.
As we reported, the popular social media personality is dealing with the aftermath of a horrific situation after her 18-year-old son Randon Lee was shot and killed near Mobile, Alabama late last month in an apparent drug deal gone awry.

On Wednesday night, Nichols spoke about it on the clock app, informing her followers about how her husband Derick has been staged in the time since Randon’s murder.
In response to a fan who had inquired about Derick’s psychological well-being amid the family turmoil, Nichols revealed that she had been on a girls’ trip when news of Randon’s death broke. So, rushing to get home, Derick got up and did what had to be done in her absence:
“He did everything for me. … He was in touch with my friends all the time. He took them all to the airport so I could send them home. He arranged the house for all our family to come here, including my mother He was there for appointments.”
Mama Tot’s voice broke and emotion overwhelmed her, as she went on to explain how Derick came to the fore while physically unable to cope with her terrible grief:
“There was a day when I was so physically ill, and I think my body somehow reacted to my baby leaving this earth. I couldn’t stop food. I couldn’t even hold the water down. And he was out on the porch calling my friends, listening and asking how he could help me, because he’d never seen me so sick.’
ugh. So, so sad. Our hearts go out to her when we hear that… Nichols also shared one of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire ordeal. At Randon’s funeral, she explained, her husband burst into tears and cried:
“I knew my husband loved me, but he really showed through it all. I have been with my husband for 16 years and I have never seen him cry. And that day before the coffin my husband cried for the first time in front of me.”
As Mama Tot explained, Randon was not Derick’s biological child, but the grieving father raised him for 16 years anyway. And that has tickled her, even as the world around her has collapsed after the teen’s murder:
“We didn’t get the chance to have kids together, so these are my babies. But he raised them for 16 years. And without him and my daughter, I don’t know how I would have gotten through what I’ve been through, because I’ve been through a lot through it all. … He is something special.”
