In TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge† one of the bosses that the half-shell heroes have to deal with is Dirtbag, a classic villain from the original television series. Dirtbag is a mole that was affected by a mutagen, which transformed him from a small forest animal into Shredder’s human-like henchman. In TMNT: Shredder’s Revengethe mutated mole uses attacks that are representative of his iconic character, making him one of the perfect villains to face off in classic beat ’em up style.
The TMNT will not encounter Dirtbag in Shredder’s Revenge until the end of episode 4, “Rumble in the Zoo.” As the half shell heroes progress through the level jamming to the TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge soundtrack and defeating minor enemies, Episode 4 also has additional challenges for players to complete. Specifically, there are three optional challenges that the TMNT can complete through “Rumble in the Zoo.” The first is to complete the level without getting grabbed more than five times, the second is to get hurt by obstacles no more than four times, and the last is to defeat three Foot Soldiers using fling slams.
Additionally, as the TMNT progresses through the zoo to stop Dirtbag, there are also four hidden items that can also be found. The Secret Diary, a disgusting bug, a classic headline, and Attila’s cameo are all secrets in Episode 4. While finding these items doesn’t necessarily add to the nostalgia in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, they are an additional feature that helps create more activities to complete in the game. The location of the secret diary is in a garbage can to the right of a bank near Foot Soldiers eating popsicles. Attila’s cameo can be found by destroying the two mailboxes at the entrance to the zoo. The disgusting beetle is also in a garbage can, but he is also in front of the monkey cage. The Classic Headline is on a display stand at the end of the monkey cages.
How to Beat Dirtbag in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge
In addition to fighting Dirtbag, the TMNT will also have to face Groundchuck at the same time. Dirtbag’s attacks involve digging a hole in the ground to move the heroes from below with a shovel, hitting the TMNT with a shovel above the ground, and dazzling everyone with the light from his helmet. Six-player mode in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is the easiest way to defeat Dirtbag and his henchman, but for solo players it can be more challenging to take on two bosses at once.
For those playing alone or with one other player, it’s recommended to focus on Dirtbag’s attacks first and ignore Groundchuck for now. The reverse allows Dirtbag to continue attacking the TMNT without being seen, as the mole spends much of the fight underground. Then target Groundchuck and Shredder’s infamous henchmen will fall to the TMNT.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is available on the Nintendo Switch.
