Trump’s daughter broke up with him over election fraud allegations – RT World News

Ivanka Trump told the Jan. 6 Democrat-led Committee that she had “accepted” the loss of her father to Joe Biden.

Ivanka Trump told the Democrat-led committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol Hill riots that they… “accepted” Former Attorney General Bill Barr’s statement that Donald Trump’s 2020 election fraud claims were: “bulls**t.”

“I respect Attorney General Barr. So I accepted what he said,” Trump, who served as her father’s adviser, said Thursday in a video deposition shown by Representative Liz Cheney, a Republican opponent of the ex-president.

A month after the 2020 election, Barr released a statement saying the US Department of Justice had not found evidence of fraud widespread enough to have changed the vote for Joe Biden. In his testimony before the committee on Jan. 6, Barr said he… “made it clear” to Trump in late 2020 that he was considering the then president’s claims “bulls**t,” and that he “I didn’t want to be a part of it.”

Following his daughter’s testimony, Trump posted his response to Truth Social, his own social media platform.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in viewing or studying the election results,” he posted on Friday morning. “She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, just trying to be respectful of Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he was worthless!).

In the days and weeks after the 2020 election, Trump accused Democrats of… “rigging” the 2020 election against him through fraudulent mailed ballots and aborting counts in several key swingstates, before resuming pro-Biden vote counting until late at night “landfills.” While Biden shot forward from behind after the “landfills” were counted, multiple lawsuits by the Trump campaign have failed to substantiate his claims of fraud.

Trump reiterated these fraud claims again during a speech in Washington, DC on January 6, 2021, immediately before a mob of his supporters entered the US Capitol, briefly halting the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.

While the stated goal of the January 6 commission is to: “investigate and report on the facts, circumstances and causes” of the riot, the website already describes the battle as a “domestic terrorist attack”, and “one of the darkest days of our democracy”, and several of its members have publicly blamed Trump for the violent protest.

House Republican Conference chair Elise Stefanik has accused the committee of running a “partisan political witch hunt”, while Trump himself released a statement Wednesday that spanned the upcoming hearings.

“The Unselect Committee didn’t spend a minute studying why people flocked to Washington, DC, far greater than the fake news media is willing to report,” he wrote, calling on the members of the committee “political criminals.”

While the hearings have received widespread media coverage so far, recent polls show US voters are more concerned about gas prices and inflation than about the January 6 riots. In addition, the proportion of voters who blame Trump for the Jan. 6 events has continued to fall, with a recent NBC News poll showing that 55% of voters now believe the president was alone. “something” or “not really” responsible for the uprising.
