Vinicius: I will continue with the greatest team in the world

Brazilian player Vinicius Junior announced that he plans to continue with Spanish club Real Madrid, saying: “I will continue with the greatest team in the world.”

Vinicius initially found it difficult to make his mark on the team after joining him from Brazil’s Flamengo in 2018 in a deal worth 46 million euros ($48.4 million).

But Vinicius had a good season in 2021/2022, scoring 22 goals for the team in 52 games across all competitions, knowing he scored 15 goals in 118 games with the team in the previous three seasons.

Brazil international Vinicius scored the winning goal against Liverpool in the Champions League final, but there is speculation about his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Vinicius has responded to fears and speculation by emphasizing his desire to continue with Real Madrid, and expectations indicate he will sign a new contract that runs until June 2027.

“I will continue in the greatest team in the world,” Vinicius said in statements to Brazilian TV channel Sport TV.

“I see it as the most united team since my arrival. The celebrations have been different this year. We all have a special kind of emotion.”

He added: “The team has the best atmosphere in the world. Everyone wants to belong. The most experienced give us the freedom and freedom to do what we want.”

Vinicius is looking forward to playing alongside Neymar and achieving glory in the Brazilian national team at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Vinicius still sees Neymar as the best player in the world and is learning from him how to deal with the pressure of playing for the Brazilian national team.

“He is our best player,” Vinicius said. “The opponents are always more focused on him and he asks us to run in the blanks because he has a great ability to reach us.”

He added: “He does everything for me, he is a good friend. The pressure increases on him with age. He describes it as a responsibility. He takes the pressure off us.”

“Playing for the national team comes with a lot of pressure, but we get used to it,” Vinicius added.
