“We don’t have to trade for an OR anymore” “He has to play every day”

The New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds continue their series tonight at Yankee Stadium. The two teams will play the rubber match of the three-game series tonight. The first two games were marked by a number of comeback wins for both teams.

The Reds won the first game of the series on Monday after coming back from three runs in the ninth inning to win 4-3. The Yankees won last night’s game 7-6 after trailing early.

During tonight’s game, New York Yankees outfielder Matt Carpenter made a great flyout to the wall to deprive the Cincinnati Reds of an extra-base hit.

“That Catch by Carp” – Yankees

Before playing in the outfield for the Yankees this season, Matt Carpenter hadn’t played an outfield position since 2014. It was a great catch for someone who is not used to playing in the outfield.

The Yankees were looking for more outfield production and may have acquired an outfielder through trade. The team may not have to trade for an outfielder if Carpenter continues to perform like this.

@Yankees I’ve seen enough, we don’t have to trade for an OR anymore

Some say that Carpenter has to play every day at this point.

If Carpenter can play a solid defense to go along with his great batting numbers, it will be hard not to play him every day.

What a catch by the infielder playing on right field, Matt Carpenter! If Carpenter can persistently make such moves, the Yankees will be even more dangerous.

The Yankees will try to make several moves on the deadline to put the team in the best position possible to make a playoff push. Here we will look at three players that the team could target by the trade deadline.

#3 Willson Contreras, Chicago Cubs

Willson Contreras is a potential trade candidate this season as he moves to free agency this off-season. The Yankees have gotten a solid production from Jose Trevino, but adding Contreras could put the team over the top.

#2 Ian Happ, Chicago Cubs

Ian Happ is another Cubs player in the trading market. With the struggle of outfielder Joey Gallo, the team can look for an outfielder on the deadline. Happ would give the team a power-switch hitter who plays above average defense.

#1 Luis Castillo, Cincinnati Reds

You can never have enough pitching when it comes time for the playoffs. Despite the Yankees rotation being one of the best in baseball, the team could definitely use another ace to add to the rotation.

Luis Castillo of Cincinnati Reds is one of the top goals for teams in this year’s trade deadline. Castillo would give the Yankees one of the deepest rotations in baseball.
