While Kamala Khan made her Marvel Cinematic Universe just a week ago, it seems that the super-powered girl from Jersey City has already caught the attention of a lot of people. Not only do her classmates seem very interested in discovering who that mysterious Mrs. Marvel is, but a federal executive department is also investigating her whereabouts. The first episode of Mrs. Marvel revealed that the Department of Damage Control is looking for the real identity of the titular heroine after the AvengerCon incident, where Khan unleashed her mighty powers for the first time.
But why is the DODC so interested in Ms. Marvel?
Who are P. Cleary and Sadie Deever in the Damage Control Department?
The mid-credits “Generation Why” scene showed DODC agents P. Cleary (Arian Moayed) and Sadie Deever (Alysia Reiner) watching a video of the AvengerCon incident. The pair seemed very concerned about the uniqueness of Khan’s powers and decided to bring her in. The DODC agents continued to search for clues in the recently released Episode 2, where they questioned Zoe Zimmer (Laurel Marsden) about the incident and the “enhanced individual” as a South Asian. Although they seem almost obsessed with Ms. Marvel, the reason is why is still unclear.

Initially a subsidiary of SHIELD, the DODC was first mentioned in 2008 Iron Man† Tony Stark agreed to a joint venture with the federal government that would mitigate and repair all damage caused by many superhero-villain fights, even the minor ones, as the Agents of SHIELD series alluded to on a few occasions. Yet the first DODC agent first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, when they operated in the incident between the Criminal Avengers and Spider-Man. The DODC also questioned Peter Parker after news of his real identity came out.
