Young boy mauled by dog ​​at Gnaraloo campsite in Carnarvon

A young boy is mauled by a dog while camping near Carnarvon.

The eight-year-old suffered serious injuries after being attacked at a campsite in Gnaraloo around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

A Royal Flying Doctor Service plane transported the boy to Carnarvon Hospital for further medical treatment.

Late Saturday night, the RFDS was back on the road to take the boy to Perth.

The plane is expected to land at Jandakot airport around 9pm before being rushed to Perth Children’s Hospital.

7NEWS was told by police that pictures of the boy’s injuries were too gruesome to release.
